Modern Commems: Market Collapse Not Imminent

I had thought that once the 2002 Registry Set Awards were done with, the market might cool off and the high prices being realized of late for MS70/PR70 modern commemoratives might lose their support. It doesn't seem to have happened: A 2000-P Library of Congress $1 in PCGS MS70 (pop. 2) just brought $3250 on ebay. How about that? (Not my sale, unfortunately.)

I am not surprised. Modern Commens are hot and will remain as such.
    Reasons:

    1.Diverse subject matter.
    2.Renewed interest in quality.
3.The ego effect of registry sets.
