Hey yeah I know the answer but my page preferences are 40 threads per page and I don't go back more than 2 pages when checking the board so I guess your post was buried behind 500 threads of B.S. Sorry I missed it Ray.
Minor cracks are common & worthless and major cracks are rare & valuable. 1921 had high mintages and dies were pushed to their limit so cracks are common. It also was a new hub so the bugs hadn't been worked out like they had between 1878-1904.
Here's a pict of my 21-D; it's minor & worthless but really cracked; it's so dirty & nasty that you can barely see the cracks so I'll describe them for you:
On the obv a crack goes from the point of the bust left to the rim @ star #1; another crack goes from star #1 to E in epluribus; another crack starts @ the rim above R swoops down to the I and then goes back up to meet another crack starting @ the rim above the I & running thru BUS dropping down and connecting the dot & going thru UNUM to star #7 on the right. Another crack goes from star #7 to the hair. Another crack goes from star 3-2-1 to the 1 in date. Date digits 192 are connected by a crack.
On rev a crack goes through ITED to the rim above wingtip; another crack from rim to wingtip; another crack from rim thru STATES OF.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
