D. Lawrence mentions these in his C.U. page as a short set. Are there albums out there with just these dates?

I've never heard of this as a short set. The only one I have heard of is 1900-1909. I would assume that anyone who goes back to 1879 will want to go all the way to 1859.

From a financial standpoint I can see why you would want to start a short set at 1879. There is only one moderately rare date after that (1909s) and a couple semi-keys (08s and 1885). If you look at 1859 to 1878 there are the killers in that range. Makes sense to me, but I've not seen an album for that date set.
