I'm tapped out, but this Kentucky Token looks interesting!

This might be a neat pickup for any colonial fans out there. Please comment on your thoughts as I am interested in the colonial types but too new to know what a good deal is when I see one.

Wow- that one looks so nice it almost looks like a copy (but it's real). Neat coin.

Oh darn it! I knew I should have bid on it when I first saw it! Instead, "newbie-caution" took over and I let it go. *fumes*

It is a very nice looking coin.I think that these coins are a bit common in high grade, but i only do colonials as a side line, just may thoughts.

Very nice looking- amazing fields. I would agree that it looks PL, if a brown PL.

I've seen these in Red Unc (with RB and RD designations from PCGS), so don't sweat it- there are others.

If anything, that one looks a little too good to be true, perhaps... at least for a raw coin, IMHO. Not that I'm suggesting it's bogus- I really don't know. It may be perfectly all right, but for something in that price range, I personally would want it in PCGS, NGC, or at least ANACS plastic. It's probably OK. Looks like there might be some fingerprints, though.

Nice piece, but for that amount of money, maybe you could find a comparable example. Maybe even a nicer one- who knows?

(Edited to add that I'm pretty green and untested on colonials, myself. I've had a few, but nothing in that grade range. This is one reason I personally would stick to slabbed stuff until I learned a little more.)

  • Nice token, Lancashire D&H 59c rated in Dalton and Hamer as scarce. Yes this is an english Conder token. If it wasn't listed in the Redbook it would be a $60 to $80 token.
