42D D/horz D

I just bought this and I think it's the D/horz D but i wanted to ask you guys/ladies first. What grade do you think this is and also if I were to sell it what would be a far asking price?

How did you get the pic so clear I have a scanner and I can't get very good scans and i don't have a camera that can take pics of coins.

The trick to get good pictures of mint mark varieties is to copy them from someone else's book. LOL That is, if you don't have the coin in hand. I don't remember where I got this pic from, possibly from the internet.

Even though your scan is blurry, it does look like a D over Horiz. D. Good find! If you go to shows you can sometimes find rolls of circ. Jeffs. and they usually have not been cherrypicked. Have found quite a few of these over the years. Sent in mine for grading/variety designation and sold them at auction. In VF/XF I think they sold for $50-$100.

I found it to be nearly impossible to get a decent whole-coin shot with a scanner, and completely impossible to get a microphotograph with a scanner. If you want good microphotographs, you will have to invest in a digital camera and some magnification, preferrably a microscope with wide field eyepieces. A photo or two I took using a digital and a scope...

Yes, actually I do...it's a generic brand, but is a stereo zoom (0.75X-3.5X with 10X wide field eypieces). If you poke around my site you will see thousands of more examples of my photography, some better than others. Thanks for the compliment!
