Washington Quarters Proof vs. MS ???

Time for me to get my learn on.
I have transitional reverse quarters for 1956 through 1964, where a Proof reverse die was married to a business strike obverse die. Now, I also have some earlier worn quarters that most certainly have proof die reverses, but I am having trouble determining whether or not the obverse is a business strike.
Do any of you quarter guys have an opinion on this subject?
In a nutshell, do I have an earlier Transitional Reverse, or just a Proof that got put in circulation?
For those interested in this type of thing, I have three business strike 1964's with all three reverses, A, B & C. ("B" was intended for proofs. "C" was intended for 65 clad coinage, but inadvertently got used on a few 64 business strikes.
