I think that's a fair prediction . Rumors running around here say that they're in serious talks with St. Louis and Atlanta about the availability of Jeff Hackett, which could bring us a big, quality forward, something we need bad.

Love the Pic...though Komisarek will probably be in the minors for most of the season. Hainsey is looking real good and should challenge for rookie of the year.

As for Hackett.....what are those teams offering? Hacker is playing really good and should get some serious looks from other teams.

Komi's already talking about camp in the past tense, which means they've informed him that he'll be best off in the minors for now, depending on how it goes, he could be up with the club by Christmas. I've also heard that tonight will be his last game with the team, and he'll be sent down to work out with the AHL affiliate in Hamilton.

As for Hack, no names have been tossed around, but the more teams interested, means the less we'll have to pay of Hackett's salary if we do trade him, it also means we'll get better quality in return. Byron Dafoe has begun getting calls from teams interested in his services, so he's our main competition, if somebody signs him, that's one less team for Hackett, but he's a #1 goalie and he's proved it, not just this preseason, but in the past. He's gotten over his injuries, and should be able to handle a 60 game load this season anywhere but here.
