Another quick Registry question.

What would PCGS do in the following scenario? It hasn't actually happened to me, but I was wondering!
When you enter a coin that you own, it says "Already in another Registry set". Ok, fine. You send an email about it, and they ask you to send in a scan of the coin. So you do, and they now allow it in your set. Now, what if they get an email from someone who claims they still own the coin, and can send them a scan of it? What if they claim you are lying about owning the coin? They claim to have the coin still in their possession. You could show PCGS where you bought it from, but say the other person claims you must have returned it? Say you both live far from PCGS, and you don't want to ship them the coin to prove it? They could ask you to scan the coin, along with a State Quarter or something, but the other guy could do some fancy computer work, and make it look like he still owns it.
How would PCGS determine for sure who really owns a coin without being able to see for sure? It seems like it could be very difficult if someone wanted to cause trouble and got some scans of the coin. Maybe they even owned the coin for a while and have plenty of good scans. Of course, eventually they would probably give up, but is there an obvious way to trace ownership for sure (after all, you COULD have bought the coin and returned it!)?
Just a thought to ponder, I don't know that it would ever happen!
