LIKE THAT’S WHAT WE NEEDED TO HEAR: There had been rumors floating around that Kobe Bryant had been active in the weight room this year to help battle the physical abuse he’s been taking as an elite player. While rumor became fact yesterday when Kobe showed to media day sporting new ‘guns” and 15 pounds of addition mass. Kobe looked sharp and chiseled, as media gathered around him. He joked with media saying "I just went from big to bigger, from thick to thicker, from swoll to swollen,". Kobe has a standing offer on a contract extension said to be worth $55 million for 3 more years, one he has not excepted (it’s the maximum offer the Lakers can make). The Lakers as a team spoke in confident swagger, and dismissed the teams positing to challenge, saying that they knew what it took to win, and that’s was a reoccurring theme throughout the league at media day...

bal I suggest you go watch game 1 again. Mike bibby hit kobe with an elbow first in the 3rd quarter. It was an accident, but do you see us crying about it?
