OFFER SHEET:Reports from Dallas say the LA Clippers have reached an offer sheet deal with restricted free agent Wang Zhizhi, its unclear what the amount of the offer sheet is, but the Mavericks will have 15 days to match the deal or lose Wang to the Clippers without compensation. Reports are erroneously stating the Mavericks could reach a sign and trade arrangement, which is no longer an option. The NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, now permits two actions by the Mavericks. They can either match provided the deal is not larger then the Maverick’s have under the cap or in exceptions ($4.5 million), or they can lose him to the Clippers. If the Mavs match, they can't trade Wang to the Clippers for over a year, and they could not trade him without his approval this season. Don Nelson told media his club was unsure of what they would do, but stated that Wang’s two main objectives were to secure his financial future and gain playing time. Its unclear how he’d get that as a Clipper, but the deal is said to have been reached yesterday.
