New Collectors Club Quarterly Coin Special

Hello All,

Here is the next Quarterly Coin special for Collector Club members…….

Do you collect Indian coins? Well, so does almost everyone else! Indian cents, Indian gold, or the Indian Head nickels of the past (or the Indian Head dollars of the recent, recent past).

For the fall 2002 quarter (October 1-December 31) Gold or Platinum Collector Club members can have one of any Indian Head coin certified by PCGS for free. Your only cost is the postage. These special Collector Club coins will be graded through the Regular Service and will be returned to you in approximately three weeks.

If I send one in with my regular submission, what should I mark on the submission form?

    Thanks!

Charlie, thanks for posting this. In the past it has seemed like trying to pull teeth to get the info out of PCGS as to what is the quarterly special.

Thanks ... a second shot on the only MS Indian I own and it was bagged for the ever-popular "questionable color." image

Thanks, Charlie ... I know you to be a good guy not involved in the "dirty" business. But wait ... how about a Braddick special? Perhaps I could get a lower-graded Indian than he has! I know I have a few candidates ... and, for postage, I could include $1!

Does the Sacagawea qualify? After all, she is an indian and her head is on the coin.

I think the next quarterly special should be two cent pieces.image

I do have an old Buffalo nickel that I've wanted to encapsulate... It really isn't truly huge in value, but it's fun anyway...

How about a foreign coin or error coin for the next special. It'd promote those two under used services.
  • If anybody isn't planning to use their submission, will you let me know? I have an Indian cent I'd like to submit, and I'll pay you for use of your submission. image
  • I’ve never submitted under these terms before. Do I just use a regular submission form? Do I need to indicate that I’m a member, and that this is my free submission? If so, is there a place on the form where I need to write this?

    Thanks,

    Dan

If memory serves, PCGS requests a single submission and all you have to do is indicate COQ, Coin of the Quarter or something that makes it OBVIOUS it is your free Coin of the Quarter submission. Essentially, you fill out the submission form the same way, except there is no charge for grading. You still need to estimate value and pay S&H accordingly.

That's crazy. I'm going to include it with other submissions before I get ripped off for $14 S&H. Free is free and there are usury level markups in single coin S&H.

Wow, wish I had indians better than XF...

What I meant to say is that the coin should be on its own submission form, or at least that is the way I recall the procedure being laid out. Please understand, I am only trying to pass on the procedures that have been printed. Do what you will.

Edited to add, I wish Charlie would have just nipped this in the bud with his last post. image

  • Hello All,

    Just to clear thing up.

You can include the free quarterly coin with other coins on a submission form, as long as all the coins are for the same type of service. The service is the Regular $30.00 service.

Please clearly mark the coin. I would like for it to be the last coin on the form and write “Free Quarterly Coin” below it.

Please let me know if there are any more questions.
