Morgan Dollar Telemarketing

Has anyone gotten a call from ***** Mint trying to sell you a 3-piece Morgan set? They are describing it as one silver dollar from each mint PDS in Brilliant Uncirculated. What should I expect to pay?

A 1943 copper Lincoln will still only buy a gumball out of the machine, but you can purchase the machine and the store with that same cent.

    If they are typical telemarketing pieces they would be worth about $50 give or take a few bucks. Just a little advice NEVER buy coins from telemarketers as you will ALWAYS grossly over pay.

    I would never even consider buying a morgan. I was just curious to see what the experts had for a price range for the GSA holdered dollars. The telemarketer was trying to sell them for $99 a set.

    I have a raw 1879-S Morgan that I bought from a telemarketer back when I was totally clueless. It was in the pre-slab era.

    It might be worth 10% of what I paid. I still have the invoice as a reminder of my ignorance.

    When coin telemarketers call now, I just ask them what they are buying in case I have something they might be interested in. That usually ends the call pretty quickly.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    He was selling you 3 GSA holdered Morgans for $99

    If they are truly GSA Morgans you should have bought them IMHO!
