eBay auction: "YOU WON'T BE SORRY, OR DOUBLE YOUR MONEY BACK!"

The Auction's CAPS, not mine! Now, let's say there's a bit of a bidding war on this one. Not so unusual, it could happen. Three or four competitive bidders want this one- and the price is driven up to $500.00.
Now, the winner decides to take this Seller up on his guarantee. Do you really think he'll receive a check for $1,000.00 back upon the return of the coin?

Hmmmm......

  • The auction doesn't have it in caps anymore... Maybe they thought it would be a fraud magnet. Does Blue Moon hang out here on the boards? I bought a couple of ASEs from them a while back, they were real nice on the phone.

They had to remove that double back guarantee look at the coin.

    Fingerprints all over an MS69.image

That is the nastiest MS69 I have seen.

  • Braddick, did you link the wrong auction? That link goes to a silver eagle with bad fingerprints, and no bids. And Uncle Joe the double your money back guarantee IS still there.

yes, its a one dollar coin @ face value, if you dont like it, send it back, and double your money back. .... you get two dollars back...has nothing to do with the final bid?.......words, its only words, and words ,are all i have to say.. the {bee-gees} 1979.

Yikes, doesn't matter what the auction says I feel sorry for that coin!

Condor101, I stand corrected. I thought the guarantee was part of the CAPS and I missed it in the text.

That has got to be text left over from some other auction or do they all say that?

This coin? is an excellent candidate for double your money back (unless you like the history behind the fingerprints).image

This could be better than a chain letter. We form a bidding consortium. Run the bid into the thousands. "Feel sorry" for our winning bid. Split double refund among consortium members. image
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.
  • HEY!!!!!!!!!!!

You are supposed to put a warning up before you post a link to that guys mug!! image

  • That coin hurts my feelings. No nice ASE deserves "eat some barbeque and handle the coins" fingerprints.

Maybe I should start a fingerprinted coin type collection? Perhaps this would, over time, become rather appreciated - and give a cool place for all those unfortunate coins out there. image

I think I see a connection between the old widow woman and this guy.

Dittos to that, I think we should buy it, crack it open, and melt it down to put the poor thing out of it's misery!image

I've looked at several of this guy's auctions, don't recall seeing anything this heinous before!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, then split the double refund among us. image

It would be impossible to not "feel sorry" for bidding on this turkey.

  • i'm sorry I looked at it...geez braddick, a warning would have been inline. Both for the coin, and "him"
Amazing color: I like the swirl pattern that resembles a thumb print
