Oh my gawd!!! I just love the almost dishonest & deceitful Heritage downplays it: "and the strike is soft in a few isolated areas" HAHAHAH and I thought the face was a PRIME FOCAL AREA!!
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
<< <i>This beautifully toned example is awash in crimson-russet colors with blushes of sea-green iridescence here and there on the reverse. >>
I don't know about the description here. I don't think the toning is beautiful. I feel it looks like really dark original toning. Sea-green...? Yes, from the dark abyss of the ocean floor. Awash...? Yes, I would say it needs a wash.
Edited: I was referring to the head of the coin, not anyone's comments. Sorry if there was confusion; I would NEVER seriously poke at what someone would say.
a common prob. w/ dimes from the end of the series, when the dies were used until they litterally disintegrated. i'd rather hold out for a better struck coin. but the color on that coin looks exceptional to me too, extremely original. it is the kind of toning all 100 Y.O. coins should have!
