Sniping software

Some of you use sniping programs to bid on coin auctions. Which one do you like?

  • You can probably ask Russ image

Or - you could go to Yahoo and type in "free sniping software" and you'll get a lot to choose from.

I use auctionsniper.com - computer doesn't have to be on and I still can snipe. Sign up and mention my eBay name ( dark_lord ) in the form where it asks who referred you and we both get three free snipes.
    Or just follow this link.
  • Thanks! That is a good start!

Software is for sissies but if I'm away from the puter sometimes I gotta do it. I don't like it because it only gives you 10 second snipes but you get 5 free snipes a week. hammersnipe.com
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I like to be on the puter when Im sniping. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose, but heck it's fun! image
  • I have been using eSnipe.com for a couple of years - give or take. They are revamping their site and adding some new options. I generally only use it when away from computer during auction end.
  • That's cheating.

Doesn't it take the thrill out of it. Timing the computer to reload and upload your price at the last possible second is the best. Especially when you're on a dial-up connection. image

  • Sniping programs are ok - but doing it "raw" is much more fun.

FYI... Russ uses the sweep second hand of his watch.

I do it without anything... image It makes you keenly aware of precisely how long a second is. image
  • for the life of me, I do not understand why anyone bothers bidding until the last 20 seconds OF ANY auction. What's the point? I don't think I have ever bid on anything outside of the last half minute, unless I am using the Buy It Now feature with a fair Buy It Now price. Perhaps I could get the item for a few bucks less by riding the auction out, but towards what end? I would just as soon secure the item, even if it costs me a very slight premium to do so. The time I save is well worth a few extra bucks.
