LOL. I will only say this once. Horry has been making huge shots all his career. If you watched SportsCenter that night (or was it the day after?) they had a documentary on Horry and they had all his buzzer beater shots all through his career. It wasn't luck.
Honestly, that wasn't the greatest shot of all time...that's far from it. It was just being in the right place for Horry...he was floating around and got the clearing attempt swatted right to him. If it was Shaq or Kobe deflecting it back to him, then yea it would be alot better. I still don't know why Divac hit it up to center...I would have blasted that sucker right into the stands or off someone to get the ball. He could have thrown if off Shaq's back or something...
Ah well, it's history now...but don't say it's the greatest....I can think of some college game winning shots that were alot better.....Bryce Drew hit one in college that was amazing.
Here's some stats on the the Drew shot. It was the best game winner I saw. #13 Valparaiso 70 #4 Mississippi 69 March 13, 1998 Oklahoma City, OK The shot. Bryce Drew hit a leaning three-pointer at the buzzer to give Valpo a 70-69 win over Ole Miss. With 2.5 seconds remaining, Jaime Sykes threw a long pass from the baseline past midcourt to Bill Jenkins who executed a perfect touch pass to Drew, who knocked it in. Drew, who scored 22 points, was mobbed by his Crusader teammates.
The final play in Valpo's win over Ole Miss was named "Pacer." Homer Drew, Bryce's dad and Valpo's coach, took the play from the NBA's Pacers.
Drew won an ESPY Award for "Play of the Year" from ESPN for his game-winning shot.
Ole Miss won its first NCAA tournament game in 1999, a 72-70 win over Villanova.
Ole Miss has an overall NCAA tournament record of 1-4.

Faaaaantastic. If you will call that one of the best then you could call that Texas guy's shot the best. It was last year...Texas state championship (highschool)...the guy shoots it from half court at the buzzer to win the game. That was on the ESPYs too. There are a lot of great shots. But in the playoffs, with the most demanding basketball team in the NBA, and with the stadium full, he sinks it.

I am not a big Laker fan but that shot was just too amazing
Actually, the thread should be called "The luckiest shot of all time..."
