1776-1976 US Bicentennial Quarter

To my small surprise, I just found a 1776-1976 quarter in my change. Maybe it was just that I never paid close enough attention to what kind of quarters I get, but it was the first time for me. Do you get them all the time in circulation? (Don't tell me you have a coin shop, and you see them all the time) image

Periodically I get one in change. Worth 25 cents!

I am glad you found a bic quarter in circulation. These bring back good memories for me.
They are very tough in MS66+. I have a nice example in PCGS-66. I think they were grossly abused.

  • I find them quite often actually.

It is nice to see you enjoy finding coins in circulation.

I find them now and then here in Wisconsin.

Have you ever gone to the bank and picked up a couple of rolls of half dollars? I used to find 40% silver halves almost every time. That was fun. But I haven't done that in over five years.

About 40% of the mintage of these is in circulation now. This is at the
highest level since 1976! These tend to be in far better grade than
even much later dates because they spend so much of their lives in
    piggy banks and drawers.

  • A few days ago I tried to get some Half Dollars from the bank, and I got this "FLAT NO" from the teller. Too bad she wasn't the pretty teller that was nicer to me usually.

These days I actually start to like semi-nice or semi-ugly circulation coins, kind of tired of this Registry chase crap lately.
