start me or trade me..also, bonzi wants d.a. type money!

Portland Trailblazer guard Damon Stoudamire made it pretty clear… he has no interest in coming off the bench, reiterating what he has said every time a microphone is present, Damon told reporters this week that the Blazers should either start him or trade him, he had no desire to be a reserve in Portland saying "To be honest, I can't really see myself coming off the bench. But that's just me. I never have envisioned that, and if that's the case, they might as well get me out of here. Point-blank.'' The Blazers continue to say they are not exploring deals with Damon, but if Damon continues to be disgruntled and the players the Blazers have added to the backcourt outplay him, its only a matter of time before Trader Bob is ‘forced’ to make something happen. Speaking of making something happen, the Blazers are reportedly at a stall with talks with Bonzi Wells, the Blazers are offering a deal starting at $6 million per season, while Bonzi refuses to entertain anything less than what Derek Anderson is making at $7.2 million this season. The Blazers are claiming a different economic climate, and there is talk a deal could be done soon, but not at the numbers either side is seeking, its expected they will meet in the middle. Wells is a restricted free agent and could not command more than $4.5 from any other team this year. Wells could also accept the Blazers qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2003.
