IF questions don't matter. They're for people who've got nothing else better to do. Hell, I'm a HUGE Nets fan but it's easy for me to say the Lakers were, are, and will be the team to beat. Kobe and Shaq are 2 of the Top 5 players in the league today. I got nothing against any player in the league, except Kemp that is. You can talk all you want about stats, but like Magic used to say, all that matters is the W. The Lakers have gotten alot of them lately.

without shaq 0, with shaq but without kobe 0. if the lakers didnt have shaq they would probaly have someone else. they wouldnt be as good because shaq is the best at his position. if they didnt have kobe they would have someone else but you cant find someone that is better than kobe right now at his position. its all stupid, they will win again this year. when shaq retires they will get the next best thing to replace him. the lakers will always be good

my point was in this thread was because some people were acting like if Kobe Bryant was on the Magic and Tracy McGrady on the Lakers, that it would actually make Magic a team to fear, or make Lakers not quite as good....When in truth, it don't matter, I was saying all along that Kobe's rings arent totally thanks to him, and if T-Mac had a contibutor like Shaq, they'd have some jewelry too!!

I think that the Lakers would have at least ONE ring if you switched Kobe with T-Mac, because when LA won their first ring in 99-00, TMac was a role player for the Raptors... he only started 45 games that year, averaging only 15.4 ppg...

You have to wonder if the Lakers would have won 3 titles without the confidence that winning the first title brought them...

true, in a series where the defense was keyed to stop Toronto's "best" player at the time, Tracy was able to take advantage..

NY in that series was focused on shutting down Carter.... NY ended up sweeping Toronto in that series... I thought the Raptors would have been able to win at least one game, but the next year Toronto beat NY without TMac..

it could be argued that Vince is a better playoff performer than TMac when u look at Vince's series against NY in 00-01 and Philly in 00-01.,.

New York did gradually go down hill, getting worse each year, also, t-mac highly improved obviously...so its hard to compare as of now, both great players, although vince will have to build himself back up coming off the injury

I don't think Carter's a better player than TMac... also in that 00-01 Toronto vs NY series, Camby missed 2 games of the series (that NY lost) because of the taking hostage of his family..

nope, its too hard to compare generations and jordan was in the wave just before mcgrady/kobe/carter......as you cant compare shaq with bill russell, chamberlain, jabbar, etc....because of the different era's......so nikobe, why dont you mind your business you a$$hole...you just try to argue with people, i dont know whats wrong with you, take all those kobe pics off your sig....why dont you get a pic of tmac blocking the he!! out of kobe in the 2001 All-Star game, remember that? "His favorite movie is Star Wars, he likes Karate movies and introduced Tracy McGrady to karate movies, Now McGrady is a karate-movie junkie!!"

They do stuff like this together, and McGrady lived with Kobe for a short stint, (in T-Mac's early years), and Kobe told people McGrady would pass him up, and others.....Whether he has or not can be debated, but neither is much better than the other!

Not really 2 dominant players. Teams need 1 consistant dominant player, 1 consistant sidekick, 1 good outside shooter, and the rest role players.

Bulls - Jordan (dominant), Pippin (sidekick), Steve Kerr (outside shooter), Craig Hodges, BJ Armstrong, Toni Kukoc (supporting cast) and then the rest of the role players.

Lakers - Shaq (dominant), Kobe (sidekick), Derek Fisher (outside shooter), Robert Horry, Devean George, and Rick Fox (supporting cast) and the rest of the role players.

Think of the Kings - CWebb (dominant), but Mike Bibby has the be the sidekick & outside shooter. Predrag and Turk has been hit and miss. Whenever one of those 2 players become consistant, then Kings will have a great shot at being a championship team. Predrag was ice cold in the playoffs (due to off time from injury). Doug Christie is on the right team; Kings. He is the King of Airballs. Bobby Jackson was the King of Missed Shots.
