I think calling it a variety is a stretch. I know that die cracks are unusual on Proof coins- and admittingly, this one has an interesting look/appeal to it, but PCGS isn't in the business of attributing variety numbers to what is essentially a minor error at best.
Kin-coin, I think your error coin is too rare to have its own variety number. I mean, if there were hundreds of them out there, it would be one thing. But with less than 10 known in existence, it's not worth the trouble for services to recognize it as its own unique variety.
For a moment there I thought you'd learned how to turn off your Caps Lock... but, it was short-lived. Typing posts in all caps is not only harder to read, but it borders on rude.
KINCOIN, Fine, I'll add something to the thread. NO. PCGS is NOT going to assign a number to your "variety". Now, do you notice how I used capitalization to emphasize certain words? If I had capitalized ALL of them, it would have been the same as yelling them in a loud, obnoxious, monotone voice. You may prefer to use the "lazy" excuse, but continuing to type in all caps just shows that you're an a$$hole. Stick that in your thread. Clark

<<Negative. I know of no other die crack earning it's own variety.>>
Not always true Brian. There are several varities in the SL dimes series where die cracks are what determines the variety. Normally the later the die state, the more in demand. IE 1839-O shattered reverse, 1839 "pie shaped" etc etc
Sean J Re-elect Bush in 2004... Dont let the Socialists brainwash you.
I think It'sjustme meant getting its own variety number from PCGS. I don't think they recognized the shattered reverse do they? And even though the variety is known for the die cracks, if you had a very early die state from before the reverse started cracking, it would still be the "Shattered die" variety.
