DNC With No Minimum Grade or Explanation?

Has anyone received a "DNC" (Did Not Cross) without requesting a minimum grade and without receiving an explanation of why from PCGS? For the first time, it has happened for me.image

    I haven't, but I have heard it is more due to there being a problem (in PCGS's eyes) with the coin so that they wouldn't cross it. Essentially a body bag without the body bag. 'Course, I could be wrong and I think PCGS should have a little more explanation with their rejections.

    The way I understand the system for crossovers is that unless you specify "cross at any grade" they will only cross it if they believe it will grade the same or higher. I also know they will frequently DNC without explanation.

    Sometimes there is a foul-up on their end, too. I just had that happen with me. Get in touch with Stacy Bowman, and have her check the invoice and explain why the coin did not cross. It could be a problem with the coin, or they might have erroneously thought you were only willing to settle for a straight cross-over. I'd double-check.

    I had a similar thing as well, I had cross at any grade on a 1918-D RB lincoln in a 64RB ANACS holder and it got a DNC.

    they did this to my 55/55 ddo lincoln ms61 bn, but wrote and circled ms61 on the sheet image
