How can you find out how many STAR notes are produced?

I would think that the BEP would have a record of the exact serial #s, denominations and Federal Reserve Bank that issued them. How rare are they?

    Hi JNA,
The BEP report is published monthly in Bank Note Reporter for all current series with numbers from Both printing facilities. It may be in Coin World also, but I am not sure. For the older notes you have to get one of the big paper money books. They have them all listed including printings, values and all. If you want to PM me with specific series I can look it up for youimage

  • I don't think I've seen it in Coin World but it is in bank not reporter. For series that have been completed (i.e a 1969 D series) you can use Oaks and Schwart for small size numbers.
  • Thanks for the help!
  • This is good stuff. I just started purchasing some currency and I haven't seen any real action on the Currency boards. I know this is off topic for the Coin Forum, but the information was helpful too me as well. Thanks
  • It does show up in the Coin World every few weeks to once a month.
