1918/7-s Mercury dime

A local auction has a 1918-s over 7 mercury dime on their list. I can't find any information on what it is worth or a picture of it. Any info would be helpful.

Thank You
John

None have ever been verified. Probably no such thing.
  • My book says that none have been verified . Its just a rumor, but ask for a scan and see what they say.

When you look at it, be sure to look carefully for signs of tooling around the right edge of the 8. A common counterfeit technique is to push the metal on the right side into a straight line to make it look like a 7 was there. All it really does look like is a fat side to the 8.

John, perhaps it's a typo and he means an overdate quarter, rather than dime.
