Question Regarding Toned Walker Halves

I have a number of Liberty Halves in not so good condition - but really brilliantly toned. These are 8's - 20's, just really junky as to their wear - but with fabulous toning.

Does the toning give these any valuable or are they just poor coins with interesting color?

any help is always appreciated.

Put them on eBay with the words "MONSTER" and "RAINBOW" in the title. Than, while the auction is running, call your Realtor and have him scout condos in Hawaii.image

Toned coins are definitely the rage now. However, spectacular original toned coins are usually in AU condition or better. Once a coin is worn down, the original mint luster is lost and the coin becomes dirty from circulation use.

Sounds like your coins are well worn and shiny. Seems that perhaps you have cleaned coins that have been artificially or naturally toned.

Coins sell based on Eye appeal. If the coins look nice, they may sell quite well. As you describe them, something seems not right about them unfortunately.

    Scans would be helpful.

  • they coins sat in a box for 40 years. They were well worn when they went in.
