With 156 negs, some how I don't think they're too worried about making customers happy Link to feedback.

his negatives are a bit excessive, about 1 every 70 transactions or so.

i wish ebay had a selection for viewing only the negative feedback. beats weeding thru 14,000 feedbacks...

  • You can do that with neg feedback on Yahoo...one of the few plusses vs. ebay. If Yahoo can do it, ebay should be able to also.

that would be a good option rather than going through all the canned positive responses - that way i can see if there's a pattern to negs or if they're unfounded.

  • Baccaruda: Another day without hearing from Antiquity Bureau and no feedback posted.I'm sure you noticed most of their coins are MS69's and PR69's(Iwonder who graded them)??????.I don't care if I pay a penny for a coin,it just better be what the seller states it is.What's your opinion on the amount of 69's that they put on their coins?I think I'll wait another day before I contact them again.

  • I had a webpage with a bot that would do that (just return negs or neutrals) but I just checked it and it is now a for pay service (used to be free).
  • i'm more likely to bid more for an auction that reads "coin ranges from PR64-PR66"

over an auction that reads "WOW LOOK PR69!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

as a matter of fact i'm not likely to bid anything on the latter.

i was reading through an auction yesterday that was seller a roll of proof jeffersons that were all "PROOF 70's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". i skipped that auction. i'd sooner bid on one where they don't even state the grade.

my expectations of quality are severely tempered using ebay.

One way to ease your search through the negs a bit is to do 200 on a page and then "Find in document" from the "edit" button and put in "Complaint" to search for. At least you don't have to scroll. But it is still tedious.

Ebay does take suggestions. They will consider changes. If enough people email them, maybe they will consider it.

    Make your suggestion here.
  • One thing that has always amazed me are the sellers whose coins are obviously overgraded but they still have great feedback. I'm not talking calling a vf coin xf but coins that are harshly cleaned being listed as BU. Drives me nuts because in the long run it is really bad for business.

TheNumish brings up a very good point.

When I look at the scan of the coin and determine that it is overgraded, I may still bid on it but of course at a lower price. If I should win and I receive the scanned coin without any surprises, I am happy and will leave positive feedback.

I don't feel justified in leaving negative feedback essentially grading the sellers grading ability unless I paid for a higher grade, got a lower grade and the seller didn't make good.

If I were to bid only on coins that I felt were properly graded, I would cut my bidding by about 80% or more.

    Joe.

  • I think most of their negs are from the shipping costs. They won't combine shipping.

I bought some lincoln proof cents from them once and the shipping was more than the cost of the coins.

But to be fair if you are selling something for $1.25 you can't give a break on S/H

Every raw modern proof they sell is a 69. I wish I had that kind of luck when I buy proof sets.

as long as it states in the listing that they don't combine S&H i have no problem.

i had a seller a month ago of so charge me $6.50 to ship a single slab (even tho there was no mention of "handling" in the listing). i figured alright, $1.35 extra for his trouble.

the coin came in an uninsured bubble mailer. cost: 60¢

  • Baccruda: I sent them a e-mail this A.M..I just heard from them. They did not answer any of my questions.I asked them for a shipping date and to post my feedback. All they said was my coins were going to be shipped.I wrote back to them saying I wanted my feedback and I wanted my coins shipped one by one and that was my requirement.QUESTION...Isn't it fraud when you sell something stating what it is(in this case he stated it was Proof State Quarter graded at a 69) and when you receive the product it's not as described.I hope they all come back PR69's.If they don't Ill do some research on the fraud subject. If I have to I'll send them all to PCGS for grading.

Coin grading is a opinion. So you can't call it fraud if their opinion is pr69 and your opinion or pcgs is pr65.
  • Placid: I understand what you're saying about the grading. But if you're selling, lets say 50 coins and out of the 50 you only have 5or6 that were over graded you pretty much know the seller not trying to screw you on the grading. Now if you look at the sellers profile and you see 200 to 300 negatives (in the areas of condition, grading and shipping)you know and everybody else knows 200 to 300 buyers are getting screwed.I think a court would look at this the same way we do.I'm not saying I got taken because I have not received the coins yet.I don't think I'm looking to good right now.Who knows, I might get the jackpot.Lets hope so.

    that's funny S&V,

i always do the same thing. if someone won't combine shipping i always tell them i want each item shipped separately. once i was staying in key west with my girlfriend and the room rates for this little hotel was $60 per person. i asked him how much it was for double occupancy and he said $120. i asked what kind of sense that made and he just repeated that it was $60 per person. i told him that we wanted 2 separate rooms then and he looked at me like i was crazy (while i stood there and wondered whether or not this was the first time he'd ever heard this.) after my trying to explain that we wanted separate rooms for about 5 minutes and watching him stand there with a baffled look on his face, i finally gave him the damn $120. i'm sure he was stupid as a fox.

some sellers expect the best of both worlds.
