1865 Three Cent Nickel Cherry!

Last Saturday on a local bid board, I won an 1865 Three Cent Nickel that has the date repunched . It is FS3cn-003. It evens has some die clash as the description in the cherrypicker's guide states. It is only VF-XF that I paid $14. Sorry my scanner is back in Texas and I am still out here in Phoenix!! Those cherries can still be found!! What is your favorite cherry?

    Lol Russ!!!

BIGE! I remember that! Did you ever get it certified? Anacs will for $15 + $1 for variety designation.

Goose! I want the coin in your link!!!! Nice one!!!

mbbiker - How many two feather buffs do you have? What dates and mintmarks do you have? I also collect two feathers and missing designers initials. I also look for 3 1/2 legged varieties on the buffs.

Tony, I was waiting to send it in with other coins, then the disaster happened, I must now re-locate the coin as things were hastily packed-------I am looking forward to finding it soon and I will let you know the results. You have a great memoryimage----------BigE

    mbbiker-
A set of 2 feather Buffs will be a challenging goal. They can still be picked, but some are among the rarest of all the Buffalo varieties. I've been trying for 10+years and still am missing a couple. Still, a worthy undertaking.

    bigtonydallas-
Which of the 3 1/2 leg coins have you been able to pick? Ever found the 1913 Var 1?

I have not found any of the three 1/2 legged yet. I have found about 4 two feathered ones. I sold two that had been restored via Nic-a-date. I still have 2 others. One also has the designers initials abraided. It is the 1916 in the cherrypickers guide. I also have a 1935 with all three feathers but very very weak initials. It is an EX-AU coin so I think it would qualify as missing designers initials. I also have a 1920 buff with a filled die as the C in CENTS is completely missing! It is only a VG coin though. I have cherried a 1936 DDO die#1, 1938-d/s die#4, 1930 ddo die #3 MS64-65 and 1936-d/d/s in MS64-65 all slabbed by ANACS from my submissions.
