Has anybody bought coins from New World Rarities? How is their grading on raw coins?

open your pm if you want to try a trial coin purchase from anyone get many opinions from collectors you know and then talk to the coin seller in person if you feel comfortable with them and you get some good feedback from collectors then charge it and make sure you get a full no questions asked return priviledge that you can return the coins the next day if you do not like them for any reason

for me my feeling is you are much better off going to a local show/dealer or maybe waiting for a once and a while show to go to and of course i do understand that in your situation that might or might not be possible
but i think i might be saving you many headaches as for me i always like sight seen buying where someone is imn front of me if i want the coin i buy it and pay and walk away and i own it! for better or worse...lol

now of course you have to know what you are doing and what you are looking at and feel good around the seller to be able to have a good comfortable buying experience!

i guess not being a perfect world you have to deside where your happy medium is so to speak but for me i think you will not be happy in dealing with many mail order companies

unless of course you deal with the best like pinnacle.com whitlowltd.com legendcoin.com hlrc.com buyuscoins.com but their material might not be what you are looking for

good luck and let me know how you make out

    sincerely michael

Those are the guys I bought an MS63FB 18-D from that when I resubmitted (about a year later) came back MS64FB and I sold for a premium (it was a "shot" gem). I'd say they don't look at their coins close enough. lol

  • I bought some proof sets from them several years back. Even in my super ignorance I could tell they were absolute bottom of the barrel sets that nobody wanted. They came in ragged packages and had ugly toned, hazy, carbon spotted coins. They were one of the very first things coin related I ever returned.

I bought one of those coins from them that Mel Fisher found from the Atocha a few years ago. I over paid for it but that was my fault. But thier salespeople would not leave me alone they kept calling me at work and at home. One guy actually called me up and tried to force me into buying a coin and I told him to never call again and he then started swearing at me! They called a few more times but I just hung up on them. mike

These tactics end up ruining the repuations of legitimate dealers. No wonder they were just shut down y the authorities.

Is this not the same company that was part of a sting operation recently?

They had a super rare error cent for sale over there at New World Rarities. It was a 1931S with missing 31. How did they know it was a 31S if the 31 was missing?
