  • Michael,
Again you read but do not COMPREHEND. You do not get the slabbed coin you get the raw error set with the error coin in it. The error coin is there to show that the other coins are real. Therefore, the raw error set is still intact.

How do you know the total mintage of these errors? Do you really believe someone would pay this much for a state quarter? (even if it was rare)

Who is denying the error is real? It is the value that is being talked about, not the coin. As far as ACG goes, it does not give any credibility to your auctions.

Just about evrey one who has mailed me about the coin has said the coin is not real even though they have seen it slabbed. They look at it in disbelief.
  • No, they look at the price with disbelief LOL image

  • out of curiousity, kincoin, while doing your research on the cracked die coin, did you find ANY other cracked die coins of ANY issue that sell for the premium you're asking?????????????

  • I just found this post. What an idiot. A die crack is not a big deal. He is absolutely insane asking that buch for this poorly struck proof coin. Somebody email him and tell him it is worthless.
  • nwcsnwcs Posts: 13,386 ✭✭✭
Yep, I definitely look at the price in disbelief. It's his right to charge it. But only a fool would pay it. Eventually the cost of re-listing at different starting prices will really mount to the skies!

I ran an Internet search for 2000 D Jefferson nickels in VF for sale but didn't find ANY. Therefore, mine is rare!!!!!!!

I looked for 1873 gold dollars struck with clashed dies, but I didn't find any, either. Mine must be unique!!!!!! I'm rich!!!!!!!

It is very rare. There are only ten of them prove me wrong. Your team the Tennesee Titans are wothless not the coin. You should be a Miami fan like myself. I am from Miami not Alabama.

the belief that there are only 10 of them may/may not be true. If there was only one of them it wouldn't be worth more than MAYBE 40-50.00 just because of the novelty that it looks like the guy is taking a leak.

Even someone that collects errors would probably consider this about worthless because die cracks are very common.......not as common or noticeable on proof coinage,,,,,but common.

I would consider this kind of error to be valued in the same league as some of these Worthless PCI "Strike Doubled" coins.

Ultimately, KINCOIN, it is the market that determines the prices. And your ideal target market says that regardless of the population involved, it is not worth what you are selling. So you can keep them for yourself and claim the millions on your income taxes and insurance forms or sell them for what the market will bear. Quite simple.

You can make no friends around here trying to sell common
coins for outrageous prices. Otherwise it's a great bunch of
people who are good for a laugh a minute and the education
of a lifetime. I can wish you the best of luck in being accept-
    ed here.

    KINCOIN,
"I am from Miami not Alabama." Another misrepresentation in your Ebay auction! You state there you're from Oxford, Alabama. Christianity must be a loose word in your vocabulary, not an action verb.

Well, we all know there are people who are Christians and those who adopt the label as a default because they don't identify with anything else. Otherwise known in Christian circles as "cultural Christians."

    KINCOIN,
"MICHAEL I AM THE KING OF COINS BUT YOU MY FRIEND ARE KING OF DUMB ASSES." I think you are slightly mistaken. You have solidified YOURSELF as the King of Dumbasses by your posts and auctions! Boardmembers will always associate you and your auctions with a dumbass.

  • Well if he has 10 of them, there have been at least 5 that other board members have which means the population has almost doubled in just 2 days. Since probably less then half of the sets struck have been looked at by people (most still sit in dealers inventory or collectors who never even look at them) its safe to say in the next few years 100's more will surface and the total population will end up being close to 1000 or more but we won't know for many years since it takes decades for the total population of any coin to be accurate. If he holds on to them long enough they will probably be worth no more then melt value in the end.
  • This is funny. No it's not, it's sad. It's funny in a sad way, THAT'S IT!!!

Kincoin, I recently sent to PCGS and recieved back from their error service a PR 67DCAM SBA T-2 that is labled Minor error struck thru obverse, it looks like Suzie is wearing a hairpin, I am anxiously awaiting the outcome of your auction to get an idea of what mine might be worth. In the meantime could you venture a guess as to what it might be worth? Thank you------------------BigE

    KINCOIN:

A coin can be legitimately rare and not worth a lot of money. If the demand
is even lower than the few extant examples then the coin will have no par-
ticular value. The dies for these coins generally make a couple thousand strikes
so it's probable there are more. You can't just look at one side of supply/demand.

I can tell you this the more bizarre the more desirable it becomes especially if the object is still sticking out of the coin. You can set any price and don't let these boneheads set the price for you.
  • You're a complete idiot! No one will pay a fricking $100,000 premium on a MODERN coin, with a really small defect.

Can't we all just get along!!!

Damn, everyone knows the market will decide what the coin is/is not worth. I have told Pat that many times in E-Mails. If he want's to try and sell it for $100,000, what's the bid deal. We do live in a FREE country, right. If he wants to put the auction up, who are we to say he is wrong. I bought one of the "Pissing Minuteman" coins because i liked it and wanted it. If he wants to spend $3.30 a pop to post it let him.

Pat, the people here are very good people. Why don't you let this thread die and give them a chance. There is sooooo much information here, even you might learn something. Do go around pissing everyone off when they are expressing their opinions, just like everyone here shouldn't complain at you for posting YOUR coin on an E-Bay auction.

This whole thread started out as a joke, we were all laughing at the $145,000 coin, and it has truned into something very ugly. Come people, get over it. they are his ocins and he can post them for whatever he wants to...

    Kincoin,

If you strive to walk in the footprints of Jesus, why do you spew such venom? Perhaps you need to look into your own heart and try to discover what Jesus was about. As you continue to post, ask yourself WWJD before you hit reply.

Reasonable men can differ on subjects and issues, but there is no call for your vituperous remarks.

Reminds me of the former British military guy who "founded" Sealand on an abandoned oil rig. If I remember right, he's King Larry I. He hosts a lot of not-quite-so-honest data services for people, according to reports, because there is no extradition treaty with others. And even though legally the rig is British territory, they haven't bothered recapturing it.

    KINCOIN,

You're trying to compare your self to Jesus in the Tabernacle???

    John 2:16 Reads

"To those who sold doves he said, 'Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!' "

    NOT

"To those who sold doves he said, 'Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!, and by the way, your mother wears combat boots' "

Sure Jesus showed emotion, but he was not rude or insulting. Jesus only spoke the truth.

Comments like Although Pittsburgh still stinks are rude and insulting, does not speak to any truth, and is NOT in-line with WWJD!
