    Nice proof, Probably 65-66.
    I like it.
  • SSSSSSSSSSSWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTT!
  • Aye-karumba. The details on this are amazing. The hair curls and feathers... what a strike! And the toning is very sweet. Hope that is in you collection and not lifted from one of Anaconda's auctions.

now i need to see the coin in person but a guesstimate from the photo proof 65 and a cameo plus coin plus plus but need to see the coin in person to make a real decsison as to grade and designation

  • Best strike I've ever seen on a seated half. Great detail. A real nice coin. What does it list for?
It's the "hunt" that makes this such a great hobby...
  • stman,

That is really nice. That is the type of toning that I really like on classic coinage. Really beautiful album toning rules. Is it for sale?

  • stman,

Awesome!!! You know it is the wrong denomination for me. I have to stick with 2 bits, and my coin budget is pretty tied up right now anyways.image

From the scan it looks PR65/66CAM, but scans often don't show hairlines. If this is a relatively hairline free coin you've got a real pedigree!

I see a few hairlines. But we are used to looking at those small quarters. You have a bigger field area on these. I see what looks like a little tick on knee. And a couple other things but it's not going to be pr70 either. It looks to be some real eye candy. I'll let you know soon. If it measures up grade wise and is as nice looking or better than the scan it's a winner.

    That is one awesome coin.
  • I really like the way that half looks! Super toning. Nice even, full cameo. The grade could be anything as far as I can tell -- just because I can't see any hairlines in the scan doesn't mean they are not there... in fact a few hairlines would be good from my point of view, they would make the coin more affordable image

Since it's a Proof 66 it won't have many hairlines. I see some in the field right of Liberty and some kind of tick under IN GOD on rev. There's a white spot left of Liberty that probably isn't real noticable in real life. A print left of the date that again probably isn't real noticable in real life. Technically it's all there. I wonder what is going on at Liberty's legs, around her knees, looks like contact has knocked some frost off. Maybe acetate slide marks from an album. I think the color is kinda neutral on appeal but since you like original I think you will like it. I see it's at Pinnacle Rarities, their scans usually look better than the coin does but they have a return and are fast shippers.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
