The Pistons trade again and get even more cap room.

The pistons Traded My Boy Rodney White to Denver so there goes any chance of him doing anything. for Chinese center Mengke Bateer, former Piston Don Reid, and a first round pick.

So Now the pistons will have a ton of cash for nexts years free agent class. Now im not saying they can get tim duncan. But they sure as hell will try. they also have 3 1st round draft picks next year. So who knows.

Rumor has it that it's *Milwaukee's* 1st round pick, acquired in the Scott Williams trade last year. If that's the case, we might not see it till 2004 or 2005 as it's at LEAST lottery-protected, and possibly protected all the way down to 18 according to the sites.

Still, when Rick Carlisle AND Joe Dumars give up on ya, you must not have had much of a future. I for one am glad to see White gone and will enjoy the extra cap space. If not Duncan, maybe we can at least aim for Jermaine O'Neal or in an emergency, Brad Miller.

i think they shoulda stuck with white. i mean they already got the center spot locked with wallace. maybe they'll give tay prince playin time now. who knows

White was expendable, we get an extra 1.9 million in cap room by trading him, and as backup centers go, Bateer certainly won't be the worst that we've had. Prince is more developed and skilled in the fundamentals that are so important to Joe D and Rick, and if we can get cap room AND a 1st for him, I'm not too sorry to see him go.
