2 tailed quarter....

What is it worth??? My brother in law says his mother has one. I'm betting its one of those home made coins, but I'm just wondering what it is worth is it was real.

The opposite of a double-header, I guess... image Ain't worth anything since it is an alteration. If it was real, it's probably subject to confiscation.
  • i remember 2 being found... I believe. Im pretty sure the 1st one discovered sold for @ 64k

  • if i'm not mistaken, the only "offical" two tailed is owned by the guy that bought all the Sac Mules. If you think it is an alteration, look along the edge with a loupe, and see if there is a seam there. If it isn't, weigh it. a "real" quarter will weigh XXX grams, and if it weighs any less than XXX grams, it's fake. If it does weigh XXX grams, sen dit in to be cert, or ask you local dealer for some other tests you can run before you spend the grading $$$$$,

Often the seam will be just inside the rim on the reverse (host coin). The only
such mule I'm aware of was an early clad (probably both 1965) and probably
minted in San Francisco based on the circumstances of it's finding.
