If I can make it to the Baltimore show in Nov., where to stay?

I'm trying to finagle getting to the Baltimore show Nov 8-9. Those of you who have gone before, where have you stayed?

I like either the Holiday Inn or Day's Inn. Both are pretty inexpensive and close to the action.

    Hi Kranky,

Sometimes I stay at the Sheraton (410) 962-8300 and sometimes the Marriott (410) 962-0202. I like the Marriott better but it's a block or two further away. You can call Gordon Berg, one of the show promoters for more specifics, including which is the host hotel with a discounted rate (301) 424-1876.
  • Jim,

I assume the show will be at the Inner Harbor? My favorite hotel in Baltimore is the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, but it's expensive. Ask for a room facing the harbor if you can get it; they often get booked up early.

I stayed there for the 1993 ANA Convention and had a wonderful time. It's very convenient to everything, being right across the street from the harbor. I've been back several times since. This hotel has a nice restaurant called Windows with a great harbor view, and serves exceptional crab cakes, as well as delicious crab bisque served in a bread bowl--out of this world! Even if you don't stay at the hotel, go to Windows for dinner at least once if you like crab.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. The Holiday Inn and the Days Inn have no rooms available, and neither does the Renaissance (my wallet is glad of that, actually! image ) I guess I'll check the show hotels (Marriott, Sheraton) which probably still have rooms blocked out for the show.

Convention. You need to make your room reservations ASAP.
The Marriott is sold out. We are well over our room block there.
The Holiday Inn (410-685-3500) has rooms for $99.00
The Sheraton (410-685-3500) has rooms for $135.00
You need to call the hotels direct. Do not call the toll
free numbers, they are telling folks they are sold out.
THEY ARE NOT. We still have plenty of rooms available
in our room block for both hotels, but there are two
big football games during that weekend and at some
point both hotels will pull any remaining rooms from
our room block and sell them at much higher prices.
We highly recommend you make your room reservations now.

You could always stay in a cheap motel in Gettysburg and ride down with me.

Thanks for that offer, merz2, but driving time to Baltimore from here is only a few minutes different than driving to Gettysburg. I'm going to go for it.
