March 12, 1987 was the day I was born...

March 12, 1987- Les Miserables opens on Broadway and is still running strong image
March 12, 1793- After 12 days of production, the chain cent is discontinued with 36,103 minted; it began on my brother's birthday, March 1

    23, September

    63BC Caesar Augustus was born.
  • The only historic thing I know happened a wee bit later.
    I was born on May 25 1941 and was baptized on December 7th 1941 "A day that will live in infamy"
    It was pretty strange that so many years later the movie Pearl Harbor was to be released on my birthday May 25th.
    A thing of beauty is a joy for ever
  • In my birth year the mint released a nice Double Die error....1972 DDO Lincoln Cent. Other than that I am not sure anything else significant happened.
  • I don't know what happened on my birthday- my memory ain't what it used to be.
    careful- that light at the end of the tunnel might be a freight train!
  • How about history after you were born?

    I was born on March 30, 1962 and the assasination attempt on Ronald Reagan was on March 30 in either
    '82 or '83.

    Going back in history, I don't have a clue what happened. image

    Billy Carter was borned. Thankfully not the same year. BTW I am 54 last time I looked.
    theknowitalltroll;
  • A few people died on my birthday - Actors Lee Marvin, Ingrid Bergman (also her birthday), Brigham Young, and Anissa Jones (Buffy on tv show Family Affair) and the King of Pop Michael Jackson. Also the Communist Party in the Soviet Union was officially disbanded on my birthday and Strom Thurmond had a filibuster that lasted over 24 hours in Congress (I think he is still a member of the US Congress).
