my mother was convinced a 1999 $50 eagle contained $50 worth of gold, "it says so right there on the coin"

she also thought the "golden dollar" was gold plated. if they say so it must be true, I guess

This weekend my friends 8 year old daughter stayed with us and I gave her a state quarter album and a pile of quarters to go through. She wanted to know if the reason George Washington was on the quarter was because he invented it. It was very, very funny.
