Coin Show Report

I just came back from the Tampa Coin Show. Here are my observations from listening, interviewing
dealers, and my own experience there.

1.Modern Certified Commems are on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!
2.Nicely toned coins are bringing larger premiums than ever.
3.DCAM Franklins and Kennedy halves are also strong.
4.All problem free Barbers , in all grades, dissapear as soon as they appear (What else is new!)
5.The hobby is alive & well, despite other hobbies that may be stagnant.

Has anyone else attended a show this weekend or recently. What are your observations.

  • I did - toned coins were on fire - a lot of newbies were scarfing up moderns and statehood quarters - a lot of interdealer dealing on morgans and barbers.

  • The last big show I attended was in late August but it seemed that proof type coins and early proof sets(1936-1942) were in demand as well as CC Morgan dollars.
careful- that light at the end of the tunnel might be a freight train!
