Poster, replier, or sniper - what are you?

Do you prefer to post new threads, or reply to them, or just jump in when you have a point to make? What are you of the three and why?

  • First, quality before quantity. I post or reply only if I feel I can contribute in a meaningful way. If not, I just sit back and read (observe) the sometimes very interesting banter!!

  • I use the forum a lot. I read many, many posts. I havce learned a lot by doing that. Of course, you can see i have posted a lot.... many, many questions and unfortunately for me, some really foolish comments.

So.. I am a reader, replier and THANKS ALL.a learner on here... I might snipe but don't really know what that is, on here.

  • I like posting every so often, don't mind giving my two cents worth if I have something to contribute, and if I can get someone to chuckle a bit I'll do that too image

  • Me, I'm more of a question asker than an answer giver. I just don't know more than I do, so it works out for me that way.

I only post a new thread if I want to know something or it's something interesting that I think the other members will enjoy.
I'll reply if I have some info to share.
I'll just jump in anywhere too, especially if the thread concerns Sample Slabs, Barbers & Morgans or mint errors.
    I don't post "I don't know" replys. That doesn't make ¢ to me.
    In short all 3.

    I don't know.

Post for interest, information, humor (it has to be a little warped, weird, sick or strange - like me), or sometimes, general chatting.
So, like Placid, I have no idea.image
  • I will post to answer questions, especially if I feel the answers that have been given are either wrong or incomplete, and If I feel I can contribute something meaningful. I rarely initialize posts although sometimes I think I should do so more often.

    I post, therefore I am.

  • My answer is obvious. DUH! I ask stupid questions!

(And I read an awful lot, much more than I post!)

I usually just post questions in this forum.
  • I am a bit of all three, but I guess I am more of the sniper type. That coincides with how I bid on online auctions.

A dealer once asked me if I noticed any three-legged buffalos on the bourse,to which I replied,"...no,but I saw alot of two-legged jackasses..."
  • I primarily read.

I ask questions when I have a relevant question, or would like help grading.

I rarely answer questions, as I am over my head in the advice giving category amongst this sage crew. I give opinion regarding stuff like transacting business on ebay, and offer my two common sense when appropriate.

  • I only post if I have a question that I can't find the answer to. I reply when I have a comment or opinion to share; even if it's only a humerous (at least to me) remark. image

I don't have enough knowledge to answer coin questions, but I like to share my thoughts or personal experiences on the subject. If nothing else, my reply acts as a "bump" so more knowledgeable members can answer it. I'm always looking to learn.

I wish there was a separate thread for all the posts simply asking for opinions about some coin or the other that one has or is looking at buying. Unfortunately I don't have the time to scroll through pages of new topics each day to cull out the really interesting ones that are of substance rather than just asking about someone's latest deal. I get the feeling that few people would even see my posts to make it worth posting because of the huge quantity of posts each day.

I start a new thread if I have a question or see something which may be of interest to other board members, and I always try to answer a question if I know it. But I always try to stay away from the nasty threads, posting just brings them to the top again.
