Is 1 the best, or is 10 the best? I wonder if half of us are using one system and the other half are using another.

Everyone has their own ideas. Ten is actually supposed to be the best from what Carol said.

mbbiker - each of us can allow our profile to be visible (or not) in your profile settings.

If your profile is visible, you can set a checkbox to allow others to rate you. Not everyone does (show their profile or allow rating) but many do. You can change your profile by clicking the profile button at the top right corner of the screen under the navigation menu if you are logged in.

If you want to rate someone on the boards, look to see if they have the blue glasses in the right side of their posts. Click the glasses, then look for a ratings popup menu at the bottom of their profile screen. Choose a number and press the button. If there is no popup menu there, they've got the ratings thing turned off.

Some users can be rated (1 through 10). Look under “view users profile” (the glasses - upper right side of message). A user can allow himself to be rated by updating his profile (click the “profile” button at the top of the page). As far as the purpose, I think it’s just for fun.

Well, I just got rated three more times since posting the question. And I’ve got a perfect score!

...or maybe it’s the lowest score, depending on how you look at it

As I see it, the problem with the ratings is that they are foreign to everyone.

It should be P-01 to MS-70 or maybe PR-70. Are people PR or MS? I'm not sure.

Also, it should impact something, maybe you could turn a customize option that would display only the Mint State members so you could quickly read their responses.

Ah, whatever, I'd read everyone's responses anyway.
