  • I'd look at the mintages of you are looking for scarcity but I would expect the survival rate to be above 90% 30 years from now so don't think you have any rarities. I'd go for the coins that look best to you. The ones you'd like to pull out on a quiet evening and look at. Maybe a mixture would be good. Either way , none of these will qualify as major "investment pieces" anytime soon.

  • Proofs are easier to find and are cheaper to acquire. If you start with MS then you'll have to work a little harder and fork over more money per item. I've almost finished my modern gold commen proof set and will be moving on to the circulation strikes sometime next year.
  • THANKS GUYS. I WAS JUST TRYING TO BUY THE MOST VALUABLE ONES 1ST. NO INVESTMENT JUST FUN.

  • If you want the valuable ones, I can sell you my 1916 McKinley or the 1926 sesui, these are the tougher gold commems to buy.

The Pan Pacific $50 would be the best place to start. image
