Finally got 100% completion on JFK Proof Registry

Here she is, #18

I dragged for the past year on finishing the set up because of other interests, but I'm glad I finally finished the rest of them off(thanks to a few from Semicycler and TheNumish for the upgrade) albeit short of the 2002's, but I know where to get them and there not hard to find anyway. I guess I dragged around completing it also because I had all the tough dates out of the way, but I'm glad I bought them a few years ago, that AH Kennedy and the 71-S and the 65 SMS are a lot pricier than they what I paid for them, which I thought was expensive then. Next, I'll have to work on a couple that don't quite have the frost thick enough or deep enough mirrors for myself.

  • Fantastic accomplishment Andy! I know what's it like to finally finish the JFK series. You have a very respectable set there - you should be very proud!

Of all my sets that I ever completed, I got the most satisfaction from the Kennedy's. Congrats!

Great job, Andy! I know you have been working on that set for a while...feels good to be finished, eh? And I see you are currently resting one position above my retired set on the all-time finest list....dangit! Hard to believe my set used to be #9....now I am at 26...oh how the mighty have fallen...okay not-so-mighty. THis series has really taken off!

Andy, we're proud of ya, boy! Don't you feel grand? Nice series, too.
  • Thanks everyone for all the comments and compliments, it feels great to finally finish something, heck, I have been buying a little bit of everything for the past two years and really strayed away from the series for that time. I guess after I bought all the keys early it was so easy to complete the set that I lost interest in it and could have easily finished the set and been as high as #7 at the time that I had just the few coins left to buy to finish up the set. Russ is definitely going to make me buy another AH Kennedy just so I don't feel so bad only having twoimage

David, thanks for all the kind words over the past couple years, you are great person. But I'm not gonna tell you about those Washingtons that I have been putting back image Don't worry, you know I'm still only 24 and can't afford those 4 keys to the series yet(32-D, 32-S, 35-D, 36-D)

    Congratulations Andy,

The good of the many outweighed the need for the one!image What a nice collection. I love the consistency of the SMS coins. Have you decided to display them? Will you add the MS coins?

  • Go for it Russ, I'm too happy with my set to upgrade anything else, I've been offered MS66-67 DCAM's for all the SMS coins for a couple years now and a DCAM PR69 1964 and the AH in DCAM, but have passed on all. The dollar amount asked for these coins is too high to justify when I would rather buy Bust Dollars with that type of money. And the PR70's, ha, what a joke. I have saw a few that I could see laying claim to PR70 DCAM(even though it is impossible to have a perfect coin) but the vast majority are from bulk submissions a few years ago and are at best nice examples of PR69 DCAM's.
  • Congrats Andy, even though you bumped me off the first page on the registry.image

    Andy,

I completely agree about PR70DCAMs. Even if I believed they actually existed, (I've seen enough to feel otherwise), there is no way I'd pay the kind of stupid money they bring. As it says in the comments section for my first set, I may never own a 70, but every coin in the set will be premium for the grade.

  • Congratulations.....how many times a day do you bring the page up to see your "100%"? What a great feeling.
