Bowers & Merena auction Sept 22, 2002

Does one have to be registered to bid IN PERSON?

I just called them and got nothing but a recording which is strange because they have viewing today, Sat., and auction is tomorrow.

Would hate to drive 2+hrs and be told you cannot bid!

Anyone else going ?

To register as a floor bidder you'll have to fill out a form at the auction (usually a table right in front of the auction room) and then you will be assigned a bidder number and given a paddle with that number in order to bid.

It is possible they may also want some numismatic references from other auction houses or dealers you've done business with before assigning you a floor bidder number.
