    No it's not a tax token.
    It's a "Good For" token. It's worth 2 1/2 cents on the purchase of the product of this issuer.

    Many of these were issued at the Century of Progress Exhibition at the
    1933-'34 Worlds fair so is often collected as Worlds fair memorabilia.


    Figure around $3. Though this one will vary far more than most.

    Thanks for the insight so far everyone. The reverse says: Redeemable in cash/ The Western Co. Chigago. In the center it says: Not good after July 31st 1933.

  • Lathmach is right this is a good for token.
    But why the odd 2 1/2 cent value in 1933 ? I guess you needed two tokens to get your full value.
    Could have possibly been issued by West Chemical Company? they make cleaning products such as Pine-Sol.
