Heritage testing a new program.

PlacidPlacid Posts: 11,299 ✭✭✭
I just got a spam mail from them.

Last Chance: Post-Auction Bargains for Direct Sale
We will be testing a new program for the Exclusively Internet auction that
closes September 24, 2002 10:00 PM CT. This program allows you to instantly
purchase select items after the auction. You will be able to find a link to
this special post-auction offer at the top of the Current Auctions section
of our Home page after the sale closes at 10 PM. This offer is only good
from auction close, 10 PM CT Tuesday August 24th, through 10 PM CT
Wednesday August 25th.

  • Interesting. I watch (and sometimes participate) in Heritage auctions. I wonder if no one will bid in the auction and wait for the garage sale afterwards?

We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.

    First POTD 9/19/05!!

  • It'll be very interesting to see what they offer and at what price.

Maybe it will be what dosen't sell priced at whatever the owners min price is.
I wonder if these will be "all sales final, no return".

Only thing I really liked is a nice toned 1909 50C PR 65 Cameo PCGS.
    Too expensive for me thou.

They show up now. Of interest, there is a 1917 T1 SLQ in PCGS MS65FH for below $900... but the reverse has many carbon spots, and does not look 65 to me.
Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!

  • How do you find them?

    Thanks,

were they smoking crack before they came up with those prices??? absurd!

  • I agree. The prices are too high. Heritage has been trying to dump some of those coins (yes, some of them are Heritage's own coins) for months and they are still asking the same prices. Please. Heritage will put them up on ebay at the same price in a few days. When will it stop. Heritage is fast falling off my radar.
  • Actually, some of the coins are available at a price bordering on highway robbery (to the consignor).

My guess is that these prices are near the consignor's reserves, and if Heritage gets an offer for the piece, will contact the consignor and see if they are willing to accept that price for the coin.
