At last, I have found thee......a coin cabinet....

Hi everyone
I think I may have found what I have been searching for a very long time, a storage cabinet
with the thin drawers. Does anyone have this setup or what have you found to be convenient
for storing and displaying your coins........if you do this. The draw back to some of these is they're
missing handles for transporting. I'm tired of the multiple slab boxes. When I want to get my collection out, I want to take it out all at once.

I always like these type of cases when I see them but I always wonder if they will cause my slabbed coins to tone over time.

    Hello Leo,

I recently purchased a coin cabinet identical to the crozier you have pictured. I won it on e-bay auction from England. I use it for raw coins but was concered about toning the coins. I solved the problem by using Kointains which are slim enough to fit in the felt-lined holes. Mine has 28 drawers, solid mahogoney, same hinges, brass key lock, looks identical to me. It cost me $90 to get it shipped from England for a total cost of about $400.00. I does look like a nice piece of furniture.

    Hey guys,
Here are more links, links, links, links, links and more links.

Just do a search on "coin cases."

Also, does anyone know how many coins or openings there are in an Intercept Shield quarters album?
    I'm guessing 180.

The 1st link gives some insight on the crozier cabinet and toning.

    Thank you for the links.

One of those links list prices for their country and I haven't figured them out yet but mrcommen may help us all with that one.

After all this posting, I'm now thinking about using the kointains with the IS quarter album. Most of the dates in the quarter album are the same for the nickel series.

    Thanks everyone

I checked out the site for the crozier and other cabinets. Mine is identicle right down to the felt-lined holes. The site allows you to select a number of different sized holes and tray combinations. I did want to use the cabinet for commemorative dollars, halves, and half eagles, but the only ones that would fit with their mint capsules were the half eagles. Larger coins such as silver eagles or platinum $100 coins would have to be removed from their capsules to fit. If you have raw coins any coin will fit, so I chose to use the cabinet for my coins currently house in Whitman folders. The coins fit great with Kointains uses to protect them. I hope I have been some help in your decision for a coin cabinet.
  • Leo,

A very nice find and great looking cabinets. I wish I could.... 1) have access to that sort of items..... 2) find the money to buy it if I could....lol

Very nice. I have never been able to find anything even close here.

If freight for the Crozier was $90, I wonder what it would be for the Coronet.

If I had an extra $500 to $600 laying around, I'd be tempted to buy the Coronet and keep more coins at home!

They are expensive. Hopefully they are made of solid wood and last a lifetime.
