1972 Topps Baseball - I just went over 90% complete and entered the shrine of "72" immorta

Hi everyone! I just went over 90% complete with my 1972 Topps baseball card set and entered the shrine of "72" immortals. The set currently has all straight 8s plus (5) 9s (checklists). I have been collecting psa graded cards for 4 years but I never throught that I would ever put together a collection like this. I would like to personally thank Ray Boehm - 1969 Topps (for talking me into this in the first place), Frank Bakka (for letting me have his 8s as he has upgraded and put together the best set on the registry) and my kids Eric and Brian (for telling to keep going to completion because they were proud of their father). I invite you to tell us a magic moment in your collecting life. Neil B. Downeyimage

  • Neil,

    That's fantastic - Congratulations!

Does this make you a fab 5 guy or are we just down to a gruesome twosome?

  • Hi Wayne, I have always been a "FAB FIVE" guy. In fact, I was the first "FAB" guy on the list until these "copy caters" stole my idea to do this set - LOL. Seriously, it has made this quest even more fun when you have friends around to enjoy it with you. Neilimage
