Braddick, I see your pop 1 auction endend with 6 bids!

I'm impressed with your population 1 low grade coins. It is quite interesting to see you low population set. It looks like you are having more fun than a person should be allowed to have. I enjoyed reading your story behind the coin! Keep up the good work (or is that worn).

  • BIN for $500???? $100 for a vf20? I am taking my reject SAE's and rubbing the heck out of them.

  • I got an MS64 1921 Peace $ for under $500, but then again, it is certainly not a pop 1 coin! Also, being pop 1 for an entire series is certainly impressive! The closest I come is a Franklin in MS61FBL (I think it is pop 1 or 2)!

I wouldn't have bid $95 on that, except I knew his reserve was higher, so it was safe. For a minute there I was terrified I'd see the dreaded phrase, "Congratulations, you are the high bidder and the reserve is met". LOL. image

I have one in my pocket right now, bouncing around with a set of 2002 silver state quarters. Been there two weeks and have barely made any progress. It takes patience to make a Braddick coin.image

  • I was the high bidder.

I would have been happy to pay $101 for the coin. That coin is more famous on this message board than any other SAE and probably rivals most any other coin period. Name one board member who hasn't heard of it! I promise you if you find someone that same person would say, "What Saint?"

$101 for a piece with that kind of conversation behind it would be a frequent source of a chuckle. Which in this 9-11 society is worth $101 to me any time!

I'm not one of those people that only buys a coin that he/she could resell for equal or more. I buy coins the same reason I do most non-work related things: Because I enjoy it!

Now, who said the BIN is $500.00? Check again! That'll just get you to the Reserve. I pulled an ANACONDA and placed the BIN at $1. over that.

I was thinking of relisting it, but you know what? Where am I going to find another?! I'll just keep this "beauty"...

  • BSqr,

Know one thinks the value of this coin is anything over melt. However, to some of us, me for example, $100 comes and goes, but a good story and laugh are well worth $100.

Believe me it wouldn't be the worst $100 I ever spent image

I know it wasn't worth over $4 but it would be fun to have. Kind of like my clay pot which I made for my Grandmother when I was 7. That thing was probably worth less than melt image but I doubt my Grandmother would give it up to this day for a thousand dollars.

  • braddick,

sorry I don't meet your criteria for the "TRUE" collector mindset. I guess I'll just have to settle for being a "PRETEND" collector. image At least you're not pretentious

Hey, who's the idiot here? I'm the one who didn't sell this $4. coin for $100.00! -You can't take what I have to add too seriously.
BSqr, if that isn't enough of an explanation, please PM me and I'll provide more.
