I have a friend that is the owner of a local funeral home. For years he served the Local Coin Club in several capacities.
Once we had an important meeting that dragged on for about 6 hours, that he attended. The day after the meeting I met a niece of mine that worked at a nursing home. She told me the people that worked there were pretty upset with this guy. It seems some old woman had died and he was supposed to remove the body earlier in the evening. He went to the coin club meeting instead, and took care of the business of removal afterwards.
I told him about what was said to me the next time I saw him.
He said, "Ray, I don't know what they were upset about. She was still dead when I got there".

Ray - That reminded me of a recent news report. It seems a surgeon left a patient
on the operating table while he left to deposit a check in his bank. In both instances the professional
abrogated their responsibilities to the community and patient. Whether someone is dead or alive,
they are worthy of respect, decentcy and a professional and responsible attitude.
You were quite right in being
upset with the person in question. Bear

    I agree with Bear.

I hope the surgeon and the undertaker weren't in some kind of mutually beneficial business arrangement.

I saw the same story Bear, I believe (rightfully so) the surgeon is in serious trouble.

Reminds me of a story that had been in the paper last couple months: A cremtorium was charging to cremate people but instead of cremating them they were just piling them up in the woodshed, behind the woodshed and out in the woods. There were over 100 dead people laying around.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • The story about the doctor leaving a patient during surgery is true. Happened here in Boston. Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, actually. The one about the funeral guy sounds a bit too silly to be true, though. image

Dog97. That story has been all over the news here, too about the crematory.

It is true. But over 200 bodies were discovered. Went on over a number of years.
  • THE crematory was down in georgia and made national news
