strange email from us mint....

Anybody else get one? It said my credit card had been denied. Unless i contact them within 3 days the order would be canceled. The strange part is I dont have any orders in to the mint. The last order was 2 months ago and I promptly received the order. My card was charged and i have paid it already. How weird.

  • The Email might not have really been from the US MInt. Might be someone trying to steal credit card info. Did they want you to confirm your credit card number or give them a different one?

There are several companies that do that and they ask you to either call with your new info, or log onto their web site. Ebay for one does that. My ISP, MSN.com also does that. The mint probably does that too. I see you say the card was denied. Is it about to expire? Or, has it already expired and that is what they were trying to tell you?
  • Call the Mints order line and ask them what's going on.
Beware of sending any reply or info over the internet. Call them, then you will be sure who you are talking to.

    Uh....

    Lets see....

You get an email telling you your credit card is about to expire, from someone you have no pending orders with. They want you to contact them (with your credit card info) IMEDIATELY.

    Guys....

THIS IS AN EMAIL SCAM. DONT SEND THEM ANYTHING.
    Philately will get you nowhere....
  • This smells like a SCAM. Print it out and take it to the BBB and see what they say.

    If it can be misspelled
    I already have
  • Another possibility is someone has you CC info and tried to use it. I would check it out immediately.
