I purchased an 1857 Snow-7 Obverse with Clashed Die (with Liberty $20) today to complete my set. The others are the 1857 Snow-8 Reverse Clashed Die (with Seated 25 cent) and the 1857 Snow-9 Obverse Clashed Die (with Seated 50 cent).
The 1857 Snow-7 is the rarest (about 20 known - some say up to 45) and the lowest graded, an AG.
For a collector of strange, weird, unusual, and offbeat FEs/IHCs, this is the culmination of a long and difficult search. A search that not many collectors undertake, let alone care about.
The Snow-8 is a MS-60/62 and the Snow-9 is a F-15.
BUT (drum roll) - excuse the lack of humility (we gotta get our drum rolls when we can).
I have one that is the "lowest graded" Snow-7 - which makes it unique, in a strange sort of way.
Thank you for your attention.

Not sure - need to find something really strange, any ideas?
It has to be something with FEs/IHCs - I don't want to expand my ignorance beyond its current limits. Maybe some patterns, or off center IHCs.
post some pics of each one if you would!
i'd like to see PCGS add them as optional's in the registry.
now you need some 1857 DDO's!
The Ludlow Brilliant Collection (1938-64)
That's one terrific accomplishment.
