i wouldn't think so-- but i've never tried to remove adhesive, either. worst comes to worst, send it to NCS and then to NGC, it might be a deal!!!!

NCS might be able to do something to it.

I’ve never tried it myself, but I believe that a nonpolar solvent like hexane or petroleum ether will remove adhesive. I doubt that either solvent would hurt the coin (again, I’ve never tried it...).

Agree with littlewicher. You might give NCS a call and explain the situation, see what they say?

Acetone will probably clean it up BUT it looks like someone has tried to harshly clean it already.

I agree with Dog, it looks harshly cleaned.

Furthermore, I don't know where someone gets off calling that thing UNC if someone had STUCK TAPE TO IT. Probably has been handled quite a bit too, probably by the same guy that was dumb enough to tape it.

that coin might be a proof. be careful.

one would assume the tape's been there a while and has already corroded the coin. i'd stay under au $.
