Hello All,

New to the boards, starting to expand my collection handed down to me by my Grandfather. Interested mainly in MS Indian Head cents certified by PCGS. I've been reading the posts here for a couple of months and find everyone very helpful and friendly. I'm glad to have found a great group of like minded people to exchange info with. Feel free to contact me with any info regarding IH's.

Thanks.

Hello, and welcome. I just sold a PCGS MS65 RD Indian, but that was all I had.

    Hi CrowHill,

Welcome. IH cents huh. Great series, but pretty expensive. Good luck, and post a pic once in a while for us voyeurs.image

Welcome to the board, CrowHill. Like merz2 said (and you probably already know, having lurked for a couple months), there are big-time IHC collectors here!

Are you going to see the IHC showdown at the Long Beach show?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    CrowHill, welcome.

Nice to have a new member, especially one that collects IHCsimage.
  • Hello Crow Hill,

I get first crack at all the MS65RD IHC's around here. Just kidding. Watch for Shylock's posts and check out his website. PM me if you need any tips for the best internet sites for IHC's and what dealers/auction houses are recommended [at least by me.]

  • Hello CrowHill! I had an internet burp and my last post got eaten.

I'm the other Bear, although not as wonderful as the original! (Those are some big pawprints to fill.)

Got any *SILVER* proof JFKs? imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

I hope you enjoy it here!
  • Wow, what a nice welcome! To answer some questions: No gold, no silver proofs. Mainly circulated Morgans and circulated IH's. I actually received his collection in the mid 70's, before slabs, etc. We spent many enjoyable hours looking over what he had, a lot of great memories. Along with a few 1900+ IH's in MS63BN he left me with an 1877 VG10. After emailing Mr. Houck this past spring, he referred me to Rick Snow's website (of course) along with Pinnacle, B&M, D. Lawrence, etc. I've had a couple of good finds in the past months, a nice 1905RD 65, 1862 & 1863, both 64's, but both with very nice luster. I've found these to be somewhat affordable, and I'm happy to look for RB's in 63 or 64 as long as they have nice eye appeal. I'm on the east coast and own my own business, so I'm afraid I won't be able to get away for the LB show. Maybe next year! CrowHill is the unofficial old Yankee name for the hill I live on, dubbed by an old farmer from a now defunct farm down the road. You know us New Englanders - quirky! Anyway, thanks again for the welcome!

Glad to see you come aboard CrowHill! Hope those dealer recommendations helped a bit. When I first joined the forum my IH posts were like talking to myself so it's good to see a small core of collectors join over the past year. I'm also an east coast guy (and self-employed) so I know how tough it is to get away for even a few days. But I figured if I ever was going to make a Long Beach show, this should be it. I'll try to recap the PCGS set display, and the show in general from an IH collector's standpoint, when I get back.
